How it solves it

Most built-in wardrobes have one rail near the top. Shirts hang down forty or fifty centimetres and the space below them does nothing at all, which is how a wardrobe manages to be full and half empty at the same time.

A hanging rail extension turns that dead air into a second rail. It hangs from the rail already there, and everything short moves down into the space that was being wasted. Shirts, skirts, folded trousers, kids’ clothes.

It is the least disruptive way to get more hanging room, and it is completely reversible, which matters when the wardrobe is not yours to modify.
