Mossfinch is a new Australian business. This page tells you what that means in practice, rather than telling you a story.
Who we are
Mossfinch is a sole trader registered in Australia, ABN 63 107 258 045, trading from 24 Canton St, Canterbury, Australia. There is no warehouse, no team and no long history to point at. The business is in its first year and this is its first catalogue.
We sell home organisation and storage to Australian customers. Our products are held and shipped by overseas wholesale suppliers who send them directly to you. That is what makes a small range viable at a sensible price, and it is also why delivery takes weeks rather than days. Both facts are on every product page and set out in full on the shipping page.
Why this category
Australia already has cheap storage. Kmart sells a plastic tub for twelve dollars and has it on a shelf in your suburb this afternoon. There is nothing useful we could add to that, and we are not going to pretend otherwise.
What is missing is narrower. Most homes waste space in the same few specific places. The wall behind a door. The cupboard under the sink where the drain pipe blocks anything box shaped. The deep cabinet nobody can reach the back of. The wardrobe with one rail and half a metre of dead air underneath it.
Those spaces need something shaped for them, not another container. That is the whole range: eight products, each aimed at a space that is currently doing nothing.
Renting counts
Around a third of Australian households rent, and most leases treat a drill as a breach of the agreement. That rules out a large share of what is sold as home storage, because it starts with a wall plug and a screw.
Where a product needs no holes and no power tools, we put that at the top of the page. It is the difference between a product you can use and one you cannot, so it does not belong in the fine print.
What we will and will not tell you
Our buying and publishing standard, in plain terms:
- Every specification comes from the supplier in writing. Where we do not have it yet, the field on the product page says TODO: from supplier instead of a number that sounds about right.
- There are no reviews or ratings on this site, because we have not sold anything yet. When there are, they will be from people who actually bought the product.
- No countdown timers, no low stock warnings, no crossed-out prices for discounts that never existed.
- Delivery windows are quoted at the longer end of what we expect, not the shorter end.
- Prices are shown as one figure that includes GST. Nothing is added at checkout.
