Privacy policy
What we collect, why, who sees it, and what you can ask us to do about it.
Last updated 30 August 2026.
Who this policy is for
This policy covers personal information handled by Mossfinch, an Australian sole trader, ABN 63 107 258 045, at 24 Canton St, Canterbury, Australia. It applies to this website and to any order you place with us.
We aim to handle personal information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
What this website collects right now
This version of the site is a catalogue. It has no checkout, no accounts and no working forms.
- No cookies. This site does not set any cookies.
- No analytics. There is no Google Analytics, no tracking pixel, no session recording and no advertising tag.
- No third party scripts. Everything the site loads comes from mossfinch.com.
- No sign up form. The email field in the footer is switched off. Nothing typed into it is sent or stored anywhere.
Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which can include your IP address, the pages requested and your browser type. These are used for security and to keep the site running, not to build a profile of you.
What we collect when you order
Once checkout opens, placing an order means giving us:
- Your name, delivery address, email address and phone number if you supply one.
- What you ordered, and the amount paid.
- Any correspondence you send us about that order.
We do not see or store your full card number. Card details are handled by the payment processor, not by us.
Why we use it
- To pack, ship and track your order.
- To answer your emails and handle returns, refunds and warranty claims.
- To keep the records we are required to keep for tax and GST purposes.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing.
Who we share it with, including overseas
To get an order to you we pass the details needed for delivery to:
- Our overseas wholesale suppliers, who pack and dispatch your order. They receive your name and delivery address. These suppliers are located outside Australia, which means your delivery details are disclosed overseas as a normal part of fulfilling your order.
- Carriers and postal services, in Australia and overseas, for delivery and tracking.
- Our payment processor, which handles your payment directly. We receive confirmation that payment succeeded, not your card details.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Order and transaction records are kept for at least five years, because Australian tax law requires it. Email correspondence is kept while it may still be needed for a return, warranty or dispute, and then deleted.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Order and email records are held in access-controlled accounts. No system is perfect, and we will tell you promptly if a breach affects your information.
Access, correction and complaints
Email support@mossfinch.com to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. We will respond within a reasonable period, and we may ask you to confirm your identity first.
If you are not satisfied with how we handle a privacy complaint, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Children
This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version appears on this page with a new date at the top.
TODO before checkout goes live: revisit this policy once the payment processor, order platform and any analytics are chosen. Each of those changes what is collected, who receives it and where it is stored, and this page has to match what actually happens.
